Quarantine and Covid 2020 stopped me from being able to use my passport this year. Every year me and my best friend make plans to travel during the summer to some place we’ve never been before. This year we were thinking of going over to Europe and Greece has been a place that I’ve long waited to explore. Why Greece well for me its so beautiful and rich with color and culture. I really wanted to fully immerse and embrace this new adventure. Ive been to europe before but only as a child and I believe that it would be such an incredibly different experience going as an Adult.
Well 2020 has been nothing short of ups and downs and somedays it felt like it was more on the downward slope with bad news always around the corner. However one upside was everyone getting more and more creative. So although my plans for travel was drastically put on a halt I was still able to find away to get to Greece without needing a passport.
Their Love Story…
Right here in the Design District of Miami a husband and wife restored and old Florida home and turned it into a beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating with its own garden that they harvest their own seasonal ingredients for cooking and the wife has her own store inside called Mrs Mandolin. This is too beautiful of a love story not to share so i pulled this quote down below from their website you can click to link to read more.
Inspired by the tavernas of Aegean coastal towns, Mandolin Aegean Bistro was opened by husband and wife team Ahmet Erkaya and Anastasia Koutsioukis in Miami in 2009 serving homespun recipes from Greece and Turkey. After a trip to Miami they stumbled upon an old 1940s bungalow and decided to move from New York and open their dream restaurant serving simple, unpretentious, healthy food using the freshest ingredients in a welcoming atmosphere being surrounded by a happy team and amazing people.
My Experience….
This was actually one of my first dining in experiences I went in with every intention to just get the food to go. However the hostess was too sweet and assured us that to experience the best taste of the wood that it would be wise to dine in. So she took us to their indoor seating and all the staff and cooks were wearing mask. The tables has hand sanitizer to clean your hands and the tables were all spread apart so you felt like you were able to have that 6 feet apart space if not more than that even. So we were able to dine comfortably without any worries. The manager even checked on us to make sure we had an awesome time and enjoyed our food!
The Food..
My review of the food well I am an extremely picky eater so I usually stick to the status quo and order what I’m familiar with. however to truly embrace the greek experience I wanted to shy away from the ordinary orders. I ordered the chicken kebab with orzo pilaf and maroulosalata and it was so delicious. I fully enjoyed this meal and would love to return their sometime soon.

I can’t wait to revisit Disney. I’m a “ I came for the food” type, lol. I’m a Micky ears and cheese dip kind of girl. My ideal place next would be Animal Kingdom if I’m guaranteed not to leave with mosquito bites. Great photos.
