In the words of India Arie “I am not my hair” I never really loved my hair or fully embraced being natural up until about the last four years. I used to work for a boss who could not stand my natural hair who I used to have to approval for on certain hairstyles and said things like what did I tell you about that style this is not a Hmo office…btw all that was from a black women at that. Anyway I quit that job and it was the best decision for me and I’ll be damned if I ever let anyone make me feel that way again as if I’m less than because I’m wearing my hair in its natural state .
